While we've been out and about running around, we've come across some fun facts that we thought we'd share. We've gone back and added them to previous posts, but they're gathered into one place for you to quickly catch up on as well!

New River Gorge Bridge

New River Gorge Bridge is the steel arch bridge with the longest arch span at 1,700ft and is the 3rd highest bridge in the country.

This bridge had a total cost of 37 million dollars to construct and reduced a 35 minute drive to descend the mountain, cross the little bridge over the river, and climb back up to less than a minute!

Moonshine vs. Cotton

While moonshine and distilled spirits are major exports of Tennessee, especially in mindshare, Tennessee actually sells more cotton than it does spirits!

Mammoth Cave Accolades

Mammoth Cave is not just a National Park, but is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, International Biosphere Reserve, Bronze-tier International Dark Sky Park, and a Green and Nolan Blueway.

Critters

Mammoth Cave is home to over 130 cave-dwelling species including 18 types of fish, 50 types of mussels, and 13 types of bat.

Arkansas

Arkansas is a major producer of a variety of major crops. Not only are they the number one producer of rice in the US, they also produce soybeans, corn, cotton, wheat, and grain sorghum.

Grain Sorghum

Also known as great millet, sorghum is a cereal crop similar to wheat or barley. You may have seen it on fancy salads as it's a small grain 1 to 2mm large with a tan color and a tiny dot of dark brown on it.

Hot Springs Water Content

The water of Hot Springs is chock full of minerals from the process of getting pushed from deep in the earth. It contains the following minerals and concentrations:
